Norrell Service Experts in Birmingham always tells you about how our team of experts are NATE-certified, and while it sounds reassuring, what does it actually mean?
NATE stands for North American Technician Excellence and, according to their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed nearly 20 years ago and is supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all people in the industry are required to be NATE-certified. The certification is optional and technicians can provide heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration services without being NATE-certified.
It’s important to Norrell Service Experts that our team is NATE-certified to make sure we are sending the most qualified and professional technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these standards, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The tests are knowledge-based exams that assess the technician’s knowledge of these criteria.
Since Norrell Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification instead of refrigeration, there are only specific areas applicable to our technicians. NATE assessment candidates may obtain installation and/or service certification in one or more of the skill areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
