What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Norrell Service Experts is here with some of the most usual air conditioning problems in Birmingham.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you could need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Norrell Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can confirm these issues, you may be able to find the culprit; if not, give Norrell Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling issues. Another problem that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Norrell Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever AC trouble you run into, Norrell Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
