Last month, Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh got a call from a man named Jimmy from the Raleigh community who told Service Experts about a special project he was planning for his neighbor Kyla.
Kyla Tracy is an exceptional 9 year old who was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, commonly known as brittle bone disease. She uses a wheelchair to get around and her home was not wheelchair friendly, due in large part to the size of the wheelchair. When Jimmy realized the issue, he considered remodeling the Tracy family’s house to make it completely wheel-chair friendly. However, due to the age of the home, the task was going to be a bigger job than he first thought. Not yet defeated, Jimmy decided to try transforming the Tracy family’s carport into a wheelchair accessible mini-suite, which would include Kyla’s own bedroom, bathroom, playroom, and kitchen area.
Thrilled to have a working plan, Jimmy started contacting local home service groups, including building supply companies, plumbers, and electricians and all of them said they would be thrilled to help and give their services and supplies. He asked Service Experts of Raleigh for the heating and AC part of Kyla’s new mini suite. Our Service Experts residential sales consultants went over to learn more about the renovation and were amazed by how bright and sweet Kyla was and they knew they had to contribute.
Kyla’s father, Jared Tracy, said he had planned to pay for the $12,000 HVAC systems for Kyla’s new mini suite, but with the generosity of Lennox and RE Michel, the team at Service Experts was able to hand the Tracy family an invoice printed with the following:
“We’re more than honored to present you with a complete heating and AC system at no charge as long as we can all have hugs.”
The employees at Service Experts of Raleigh were thrilled to help provide such an incredible girl with a much-deserved place for her to live that accommodates her wheelchair and allows her to move around safely and efficiently. The work isn’t done yet, though. Kyla’s family is raising money to purchase a wheel-chair friendly vehicle to better transport their family.
