Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their service vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise money for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were moved to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the amount of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still leaves a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and there is still an urgent need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in North Carolina – for both females and males.”
